Designer Canopy Bed can be seen right from the beginning – from the time of Cleopatra and Ajanta Cave Paintings. In fact, the word canopy was coined around the 1300s and has roots in Greek for “bed with mosquito curtains”. It was only in the times of Queen Anne when the height was reduced for accessibility as the designs became lighter and smaller than the earlier ones.

If you are looking to buy a bed and you need to understand what size of mattress is available in your region, you can check the details as below, mattress are available either as a single unit for full bed or twin mattress.
Single mattress though is good as it does not have a gap, however they are heavier to move if required, twin mattress gets little easier to move as they are less in weight
For beds with top load storage, twin mattresses are recommended for same reasons.
For beds with side storage (drawers) single unit or twin mattress both are fine.
